Default Rota Slipstreams Question

I have a 01 Type R and trying to decide between 16" or 15" slipstreams. I kinda want to stay with 15's for Autocross and for future mods like Mugen Supension where the back tire would be tucked into the fender some. Will 16's with 205's stick out of the wheel well any? will it allow the tire to be tucked into the wheel well?? or do i have to stick to the 195's on the 15"? I currently have 17's that are 205 and they stick out of the wheel well enough so that it can't be tucked into the wheel well and they throw the car off balance some to me atleast. I just don't like the way they look on the car.

205/50s on the 15" wheels is a nice setup.

The key to buying wheels is buying wheels with the proper offset. If you have 17s with 205/40/17s and they stick out of the fender, the offset of the wheels is incorrect.

Also for optimum handling with "Mugen Suspension" you won't want your wheels tucking.

I have rota slipstrams in 16 x 7 with a 45mm offset which allows them to just clear the fenders on my 2000SiR with Kuhmo 205/45/16's. If you worried about rub get 45+ to 50+ offset. If you'd like a pic I can take one with my digicam and post it.

Rubbing really depends on how low you plan on going and whether your gonna increase suspension travel by trimming the bumpstops.

on my buddy's ITR with Mugen suspension the rear tires are maybe 1/8 inch or less inside the wheel well. that's all that i'm worried about. he got it aligned and it handles like it was on rails. big difference from stock.

You won't have any problems with a 205x16". I run 225 x 16 on my R.
