Default When turning car jerky and makes a grinding noise.

I had an engine swap done about 6 months ago, right now i have a JDM B18c with B16 LSD tranny.
Everytime i make a turn it seems like the axles are jumping in and out of its socket. So it makes my car jerky and also makes a grindy noise. The steering wheel studders back and forth while the car is turning.
I've replaced the axles with b18c swap axles, i've replaced all 4 ball joints. What could the problem be?

Bad engine mounts? the b16 trannys mid-axle not right for the b18c? or do i just need an alignment. i haven't had one since my first swap. but on the hiway at 120-140 km/hr the car is still smooth.

help please.

check your wheel bearings... it may be pretty bad if your car is jerking around..

wheel bearings usually give the grinding noise... you may notice it more when turning but it will make the noise even when going straight.

Did you match the right axle with your intermediate shaft? Also, if you bought remans, some are crap right out of the box.

yes they do...it sounds like your axles aren't all the way in! my GF LS had this problem, inproper install, tranny ended up grinding the teeth on the axle, take them out and check the teeth on the axles, then make sure that when you put them back in the C clip on the axles engages. That could've been your problem, when you installed them...

Could be powersteering related. Had an LS400 witha bad powersteering pump and the thing would GRIND whenever the steeringwheel was moved. The wheel bearing would make more of a whining sound than a grinding sound. Start with the smallest possible problem and work your way up from there.

take ur power steering belt off and see if its the belt or the pump. my ac belt made a real disturbing grinding noise for about 2 months i thought it was my flywheel/clutch....turned out to be the ac belt...it was soo wierd but if ur getting the gring when turning i would def take the ps belt off and see if it still makes the noise around turns. it takes like 2 mins to take that belt off

still have the problem...the grinding sound seems like its coming from the tranny now..i think its a bad lsd? also there's some slipping which makes the car jerky. this only happens when i'm in gear and giving gas....when i'm outta gear turning there's nothing wrong.

so is this a bad tranny or lsd?

Try checking the transmission fluid for shavings should tell you if it's an internal tranny problem, or would atleast be a start
