If you had $1,000 to spend...
What would you guy's spend it on? I'm looking for something other then under the hood. I depend on the S to be a sturdy daily driver, and it see's 1,000+ miles a Month. I want something that would make it look a little better, and stand out. I was thinking a nice full coil over setup would be nice, but I haven't really found any around $1,000. The least expensive set I've seen was $1,300. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot. I was also throwing around the idea of an OEM lip kit. But, I figured I'd see what you all thought, maybe someone could come up with something better.
So if someone handed you $1K cash, what would you do with it? Keep in mind I'm bone stock minus some window tint to prevent my skin from catching on fire during those Summer Month's.

gears are definatly a nice mod, but will hurt gas milage a little, and from your post its not even clear if you are interested in pepping it up. Sounds like you more want DD enjoyment/looks?
Maybe think about upgrading the stereo? Definatly improves the top/down cruising experience if you spend alot of time in the car...
You could do springs for cheap, and also bump up the stereo a bit.
All just ideas... depends what your priorities are!

Yea, I'm currently in College, and I go back and forth from Aston to Manhattan every Weekend. So it's safe to say I'm alway's behind the wheel. For right now, being in College, I plan to just make the car stand out a bit, and after College, begin making it a monster. So for right now, I just want a few tasteful modifications to make it stand out some.
Oh, I also have JL audio speakers, I'd forgotten about that. And I'd love a set of gear's, but with all that highway driving, MPG is critical.

If your going down the freeway at 60mph with stock gears at lets say 3grand, and then again at 60mph with shorter gears at 3500rpm, tell me how that isnt going to burn more fuel? Enlighten me on this...
500 rpm is not going to make a difference and in some cases can improve gas mileage by making you shift earlier. you will still shift at the same rpm, you just get there faster. my friend has 4.77 on ap2 and doesn't notice a change in gas mileage.
If your in 6th gear on the freeway you dont any more gears to shift to so your rpm's will be higher to travel at the same rate of speed... period, there for burning more fuel. I dont get where more rpm's=not burning more fuel to you. When your out racing hitting 8k rpm's do you still think your getting 30 mpg? LOL
To the original Poster, just keep saving and buy a good set of coilovers. Maybe a hard top.
Factory front lip if you dont have one already.

again 500rpm is not going to make a difference. maybe it would affect you but mostly there is city driving everywhere i go. where is that thread that proves this? its out there somewhere.

There are guys that get better gas mileage after switching to a higher FD. It is not only dependent on RPM but Throttle Position as well, since that determines how much air the motor gets, which in turn determines how much fuel goes in.
Picture climbing a hill in your car, it would be more efficient to climb it at 40mph in 3rd, requiring less throttle than you would at the same speed in 5th.
BACK ON TOPIC: Get a good set of tires, full synthetic fluid swap, SS brake lines, upgraded pads, and go have some fun.
