Im putting 16s on my 93 del sol trying to decide between 205 40 16 or 215 40 16 i love the look of the wider tire then rim lke i had on my camaro just wondering if any one has made this decision and if so could you post some pics of your wheels so i can make a choice its driving me nuts preformance isnt a huge issue i wont be pushing the car the the point where i will notice it, plus anything is gonna be better the the fat 5's running 185 60 14 lol thanks
205 is about as far as you are going to want to go without rolling your fenders.

And why did you get rid of the 'Mero?!? I am just about ready to switch back over to the dark side.

dude i have 215/40/16 on my car...theres no need to roll fenders...only rubs when turned at full lock while enecountering a bump or dip...if i get a moment i'll snap a pic and post pics but honestly your not gonna see much...i think u should just do it..if u can tell the diff between a 215 and a 205 w/ an ok pic u need to be a sniper

Yeah, me too. I'm only pulling 30mpg on the highway w/ my civic and it's pissing me off. Used to get 36
.
If I wanted that shitty mpg I coulda BEAT ON my GTI all the way back and forth to college and got that kinda mileage
.
@ OP:
Don't go any higher than 205's on the width.

This picture is from back in the day when i had the rotas on, these tires were 205/40/16's and then rim almost looked wider than the tire, which is NOT what it seems like you want, So I would say get the 215, but then depending on the wheel offset and how much you are lowered theres a possibility of rubbing...

The only thing im concerned about is either going 205 or 215 on my 16's rim width is 6.5 and offset is about 42 as far as i know performance wise there isnt much of an issue since i wont be pushing my car that hard, i just want a nice piece of rubber on the road and i think 215 40 16 would be the ideal size, some are saying go 205 45 16 but i dont know how i feel about that 40 vs 45 not sure when i \t come to tires im a little lost
205/45 looks great... thats what I had on my volks. The hard part about a 215 is actually finding the damn things. I found 2 sets MAX... Hankook and I dont even remember the others.
