Default Hesitation Issue...

So I buy my 2K from a dealer here in town for a pretty reasonable price, and I was pretty sure I was set.
It has the clutch buzz, and I'm okay with it.
It needed the taillamps replaced...done buy honda the next week.
All other recalls done previously.
Car has 40,302 at the time of purchase.

It waits a couple of weeks, and then when I'm pulling into traffic, I got this wierd hicup of a response under 2500rpm. It was like the power was on-off-on-off-on. Kinda like it wasn't getting enough fuel. It's done it a couple times since then, but not frequently.(I've put nearly 2k on it since I bought it.)

I have all kinds of records with it, so I figured it had to be well maintained, and the car itself was nearly mint when I bought it.(With the exception of the front tires needing to be replaced.)

Is this a common issue, or do I need to start searching through all these reciepts from past Honda dealers looking for a fuel filter replacement? Keep in mind, it's not a normal problem, just happened 3 times over a 6 week period.

Mine does the same thing in traffic, ive heard its a issue with the map sensor, you might want to run a search on map sensor or what some people refer to as "the map sensor whack"

This issue you're describing I think I have the same problem too w/ my S2K. My car has 18,XXX miles on it. "Count Blah" mentioned it having something to do w/ the MAP sensor, I've heard the same things from S2Ki as well. Actually they have a sticky in one of their threads that talks about this issue, so I believe its not uncommon.

I get the 'hicup" in first when I try to drive it in that gear under 3k rpms. I don't believe it's unusual. I just don't drive it in first under 3k rpm's anymore!

Buy a new MAP sensor from honda, they come with a zip-tie type thing now that wraps around the plug to hold it in place.

Although you could probably just put a zip tie on yourself but I think OEM looks better.

Locate MAP sensor. Remove the 2 screws. Use the handle of the screw driver and tap the top of the sensor a few times, firm but not too hard. Remove MAP sensor. Use an airspray can or pipe cleaner to remove any debris from the pinhole that the sensor works off of. Once clean, replace sensor and zip tie the harness plug to the sensor, it tends to vibrate loose.

This is in 1st while taking off slowly in traffic correct? I have experienced this as well [in a friends car] and I was wondering what it was.

It's the sensor on top of the TB.
