DIY Shaved side moldings

How do i shave my side moldings at home, with out having the bottom side molding line show up?

i think this should be in the appearance forum but you could either fill them in with bondo and A LOT of sanding or you can weld a piece of medal over the gap like you would when shaving door handles.
