Default Alternator Amperage - 06 Si

I haven't seen a thread on the output of the stock alternator in the 06 Si coupe. I know I could check the engine, or the manual, but I am at my desk at work and wondered if anyone knew?

I am designing my audio system, and need to know if I will need an upgrade for what I am planning on running. Opinions are appreciated

Kind of depends on how much of that possible 1750W your going to want to use, if a lot of it, for long periods your going to need a max of about 200A, [average around 100A] just for the amp, so it's a good bet your going to need an upgrade to the stock alt. no matter what output it has. 94

Thanks for the input. I was planning on hooking it up to run at about optimal performance. Push 120w to the components, use the HU for the rear speakers, and the gt-28 to push 1100W to the sub.

Have any good links to alternator upgrade sites? Are there different brands of alternators? What kind are best? How much is something like that going to cost me? Is it an easy DIY install? Sorry for all the questions....i'm a noob on most engine stuff.

not sure as far as websites, but as long as your alternator is fairly accsesable its an easy install. 20 minutes max. price depends on output, 200-300? that is what i have found for my car so that is a ballpark figure.

I have been looking all over for websites that have alternator upgrades for my 06 Civic Si. I can't find ANYTYHING. Am I looking in the wrong places or what? I feel like an idiot. I even talked with a tech from an online parts store and all they could tell me was to take it to the dealer. About as useful as a **** flavored lolli-pop

Is this what I should do? Are there places that sell them online? I am just trying to install my audio system......and that is going to be put on hold until I can take care of this. Thanks in advance for any input

i dont know the generations of civics and what parts are interchangable, but maybe this would work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V
but other than that i would say just keep looking, you will find in somewhere. and as to the dealer, i really doubt that they would sell you a HO alternator.
