Took MECP Test, its different. Is the MPS test different?
I have a book for the MECP Basic Installer test and its a little different. I got a 92% on the test because some of the things in that book seemed to be different than the book i have that is kind of old(the study guide i got was about 3 years ago). What i am wondering is that is the Mobile Product Specialist book different also? I looked on the site and they say their book is 180 pages. I looked on the book i have that has 180 pages on the last page that is listed, without counting the Index section.
So the question is, if i study my MPS book, is it the same one that i would get in the mail if i ordered a 'new' one? I also got this book about 2.5-3 years ago

You probably want to get the latest edition of that book because it has to do with the products being sold. That changes every season so if the book is a year old, I would imagine that it's pretty out of date. Not speaking from personal knowledge though, so take this with a grain of salt.
Why are you concerned what your percentage on the test was? 70% is passing and there is no difference on the certificate whether you got 70% or 100%. Just goes to show that 30% of the info in that book is irrelevant.

well personally i dont like to halfass things, true 70% is passing but, its barely passing. i kind of have high standards so i try to get the highest score possible. thats also why i took the Basica Installer test and i am getting the Mobile Product Specialist; i dont have to get them at all to get a job where i want but it will look better if i have it. ill order a new book just incase they changed a few significant things in the book.

After reviewing my copies (2nd edition to current) of the Basic Study guide and comparing them, very little has changed in the core areas: Basic and Advanced Electrical,Installation Knowledge and Intro to Audio. The major changes are Security (introducing telemetrics),Cellular-though the cores of both still exist,Navigation and Sat Radio (the newbies
).
Could you use the old book and do well on the test? You could depending on your understanding of the new technologies (one of my installers did that by using my 2nd edition study guide) that exsist. I wish well on your journey.
