Hi, i have a civic cx hatch with a d16z6 engine and tranny if i used a cx tranny for the longer gears would that be better?

BTW: i have a greddy turbo kit on the car

 

I currently running a HX tranny, plus 24 inch tires, my 3rd gear goes to like 118.

It works good for me and plus awesome gas mileage. If your making a lot of torque, it'll be good. What your year CX tranny?

EX/Si tranny is best for boost.

 

CX tranny is waaaaaay tall. Maybe a 5G DX, but I'd prefer an EX tranny.

 

actually its not a cx but a vx tranny. Does anybody know if it would be any good for his setup.

 

i don't know about you but when i had my cx turbo charge it was running mid 12's with 22" slicks

 

CX and VX are the same tranny

 

i'm running that same set up....D16Z6 w/ CX tranny. i love it. no turbo yet, but the guys at the shop said i'd be fine. more boost per gear. i already do 87mph at redline in second. just think of boosting makes me tingle. but i want apexi instead of greddy.
