Ok I need all the help I can get with this F****** sunroof!!
I took it out of the car 6 months ago, removed all rust and put textil on it (same thing as they put underneath new cars so they don't rust) but now I took it out again and it's already started to rust

What do you guys to do keep it good?
And is it possible to exchange the metal plate for a glass window? dont really care for plexiglass.

 

There's a carbon fiber sunroof that will replace your whole sunroof panel. I don't know much about it but it might be an option. You could also plug the sunroof with the carbon plug kit but its like 400 bucks.

When I took my sunroof off, the "Seal holder" sheet metal that bolts the seal around the perimeter was the most rusted. You could get a new seal and seal holder.

...also, if you have rusty metal, you need to prepare it somehow before painting it. The best way, of course, is to just cut it out, but there are rust paints and rust converters available.

 

I put rustconverter on it but the reason I took it apart is that I'm prepping the car for paint.
But it's a little hard to get parts here where I live.. I think there are only about 5-6 crx left

 

Oh yeah I didnt notice you were from Reykjavik. From what I've seen, it looks like a very nice place!

SETI, a user from europe has one on his black crx. i think he got it off ebay. they pop up on ebay from time to time. the carbon fiber plug is also on ebay
