Tuning order ??
Simple question
.. my mechanic is great when it comes to tuning "mechanically"; in other words, timing, fuel pressure, cam gears, etc.. However, he does not work the ECU side of the equation in which I plan to use Hondata so I am talking to this other person who is very reputable tuning Hondata applications. The funny thing is, the Hondata guy does not mess with the mechanical side, go figure.
So, do I tune the mechanical side and then the Hondata ?? Is this done simultaneously or what ??

We tune in concert. It would be tough to separate the two aspects of tuning, because one affects the other. Fuel pressure, for instance, is going to alter your A/F calibrations. Changing cam timing will also alter the A/F throughout various parts of the RPM range. Maybe take both of them to the dyno with you...?
