Default headlights acting wierd in 2000 accord

Hey I have a problem with my 2000 accord. I thought my headlight burnt out so i bought a new bulb to replace it. when i was taking out the "burnt out" bulb it hit against something and went on. so my problem is that my headlight will only work if i hit it against something under the hood and it will only work for a little while. i have noticed condensation in my headlight also, could the water be doign this? Could something be wrong with the wires? any help would be appreciated....thanks!

My guess is a short in the wiring, and YES the condensation is water, and water plus ur headlight bulb is never good for the bulb. Take out the headlight and add silicon around the edges, that will keep the wata out.tt...

When a bulb burns out, the filament breaks which in turn breaks the flow of electricity. If the headlight switch is on and you tap the headlight bulb, the filament shakes around a bit, and if the 2 pieces touch and reconnect the flow of electricity, they'll stick together for a while and work again. Eventually though, it'll go out again.

Whenever one of my headlights would go out, and I didn't have a new bulb with me, I'd pop the hood and tap the back of the bulb until the headlight came back on. I'd do it a dozen or so times until the bulb finally wouldn't come back on. I did this with every bulb that burned out. Even some of my friends started doing it.

So don't sweat it... It's normal. Most people just never try it. But condensation isn't good, and you should fix that with silicon sealant like AJ06 mentioned. Pull the headlight assembly off use silicone sealant where the 2 pieces of the assembly meet.

haha.....i thought the "dont sweat it" was kind of funny actually. anyways i went to the body shop that has fixed my car and he replaced the lightbulb with a brand new bulb and its working. Coincidently my generic bulb and silverstar bulb both blew out at the same time?!?! seems a little wierd to me?
