I got a rspeed sparco shift ****, and it came with a metal piece that screws to the bottom of it. I had the idea of screwing it in until i realized that I cant remove that stock plastic piece at the base of the stock shift ****. Is there any way to keep the stock boot and hook it up to that sparco metal screw in piece at the base? I feel some clip or ziptie type thing at the bottom of the stock piece. I dont want to break anything

 

I ziptied mine to the aftermarket B&M shifter I had.... No issues.

I used a Black Rubber Grommet that fit snug in the plastic housing on the topside, to hold it up.
