Default I know this has been beaten to death...but

I have a question about wheel fitment. I did try the search and i know there was a topic about wheel fitment before....but i couldnt find it. Hopefully you guys could help me out, or just point me in the right direction. I wanted to see if a 17X9 +45 would fit under my stock AP1 rear fenders (i dont wanna do any rolling ...and i really want to avoid shaving away the fender lip). I'm 1.85'' lower than stock in the rear, and i have -2.5 degrees of camber. I saw the same fitment of an ENKEI RPF1 on an AP1, but it looked pretty close to the fender. It may not rub when the car is only 1.85 inches lowered, but do you think it will rub if i lower the car some more? I dont really want to run more than -2.5 degrees of camber. I plan to run a 245-40-17 tire. thanks for any help guys.

You should barely be able to make it. A higher rear spring rate will help. Rolling of at least the inside lip of the rear fender should be done.

That's good to know. How well does it fit? does it rub at all? are your fenders rolled? could i ask more questions? lol...seriously though....how exactly do you roll your fenders? I rolled the fenders on my 240 once and it took a fender roll tool...not only did i get deathly ill after (it was winter), but i also was planning on getting the car painted, which was good, because there were mad chips, y0!

245/40-17 with a 17x9 +45 is a very moderate aggressive but it looks very very good. Very Flushed.

He is my buddy Tj's car (silentdancer) with 17x9 +45 Rega Evo's. This is with -3.5 camber +roll and he was dumped like htere was no tomorrow.

Although, you can do away with the -2.5 camber, you just won't be tuckin as much though, but you'll be very close to it

The fender roller is a great tool. Results are like whoa! although, unless you wanna be a gangsta like Santos here and Use a ball bat, thats all up to you

I'd be too darn scared to take a bat to my precious AP

Baseball bat FTW!!! Use a wooden one to minimize scratches, and use a heat gun to keep the paint from chipping.

hmm...allright fender rolling. Is there any way you could post pics of your technique or kind of a "how to" explanation? I just dont want my fender to look all wrinkled from the outside after all this is done. The size does look very nice...so i think i'd be willing to take some trouble, i just dont wanna F anything up.

Thanks "OBeseriousO" for the pic and for fading my name. lol jk.

well its a lil by lil process... you dont wanna fold it all in one shot... so taps from the front and tap to the rear or vis versa.. hit it so you can see it "roll" slightly and work your way back adn forth till u reach your disired roll...

orrrr
as some have done and i have as well...
with a wooden bat...
jack up the car just enough to clear the bat in there... and with the bat pressed against the lip and using the tire/rim as leverage person #2 lowers the car "SLOWLY" and that section will be rolled......

Hmm the bat thing sounds more risk-ay. But the mallet thing sounds a little violent as well. Which method have you had the best luck with? do your fenders ever get all folded and wrinkled from the outside when you do this? Also, how much camber are you running on your set up? When you say "back to front" do you mean the outside of the fender and the inside of the fender, or are you referring to back and forth INSIDE the wheel well? Thanks for answering all the questions so far. I really appreciate all the help

well thats about as low as my car is also. I really dont wanna resort to having to use -3.5 degrees of camber...at that point it would probably diminish handling. although that car doesnt really look like -3.5...are you sure its that much?

i mean from the inner of the fender, and no there has never been any damage to the outside.... you wouldnt know it unless stuck your head into the tire well....

i used a dremel and about 5 bits for the rears. I cut them out because i dont like rolling since the paint will eventually crease if done improperly.

I aint never scared. Maybe im a little scared. but still...I'd be willing to do either cutting or rolling. I just wanted to get the methods right so i dont mess up my car, thats all. The only problem with cutting is that you'd have to remove that rubber strip from the inside of the fender, and it also makes you way more prone to rust. Although i may have to take the rubber strip out anyway since i'd want to check the paint for chipping...and maybe it wouldnt stay in there right after rolling. Just out of curiosity, aren't S2000 rear fenders bolt on?

no they are tac welded.....

you can also do a mix and cut the lip very 3-5" and fold it in sections ... easier to roll that way

yeah i was thinking about doing it that way so the metal doesnt really have to stretch as it folds.
