Default Correct way to Space your Hood.

Im looking to space my hood by the windshield (like done on cars w/ ITB's). JW the correct way its done and with what type of washers or spacers. I currently have 4 large washers but it still doesnt have enough lift as I want. Anyone have pics, info or even a link that would be great. TIA.

The correct way is to not do it

Just get some more washers and longer bolts.

Best thing I could think of is using stainless steel washers so none of them rust, and use ones that are snug to the bolt so you don't have play back and forth.

If you really want to do this, also make sure that you are using the correct grade bolts, not just whatever you find at the hardware store.

How the hell did this turn into.. how lame it is to space your hood for haters. All your doing is making this thread off topic.

I think if you have a turbo setup it or anything that's going to generate a larger amount of heat than stock, it wouldn't be a bad idea just don't make it stick up like 4 inches, a half inch to an inch AT MOST should suffice. And if you don't wanna do that, just take off the gasket thing that runs along the hood and bottom of windshield area.

do not get washers they look like ****. i have a longer bolt and a metal dowl over the bolt. dont make it to high eather looks retarted i only did it so my engine would stop hitting my damn hood

and its proven that it does not help your engine temp at all not one bit it actually makes the inside hotter the hot air will just stay in there kinda like wirld wind effect.

This = s.h.i.t. Spacers would have worked better but the only justifiable reason to go this is a H in a civic.
