Default New to the site, whats up

Hey everyone, I just purchased a 1992 civic cx so i figured i would go ahead and become a member on here and hopefully get some good advice from people.

Im currently in the process of swapping the motor to a d15b (just need to hook it up to the lift and undo the mounts to pull her out) and HOPEFULLY by the end of this month have a turbo kit on it. Right now, i have had a lot of people tell me that i need the ex/si tranny on the car for the best gearing, so maybe someone can help me find out where i could get one? I would like to have lsd in it mainly because of the traction problems i am going to see when it gets boosted.

Anyway, ill post up some pics to let you all see whats going on, and by the end of this, maybe make a little video of how everything came about.

ya man, i would never try just to make power out of the motor w/o going fi - thats just pointless. I was going to buy my friends vf-39 off his sti, but after he inspected it, he said it had some blowby and that he didnt feel comfortable selling it to me, afraid it may self destruct and take out my motor with it.

You'll probably get flamed, because retards here care more about rules and regulations than helping out and contributing to a site.

But alas, welcome aboard

Boosted SOHC FTW!

The CX tranny does have some long *** gears, I'd look for en EX/Si, or even a DX (cheaper & easier to find) would be better than the CX.

Well, right now it has a d15b7 with the lx tranny in it. I think im going to hold onto that tranny until it gets boosted, then go for the ex tranny and get tuned. I know its only going to be in there for 2-3 weeks before being boosted, but thats time enough for me to collect another paycheck to look for the ex tranny.

anyway, thanks for the welcome everyone.

should i guess how you know that?

Oh and btw, i just got the ex ecu from the junkyard, but its for the auto. I was looking on the write-up about switching it from auto to manual, and it said for the usdm to unbridge the rp17 and rp18 resistors, and to bridge one jumper across the rp18 so it has no resistance. Now, where can i get the wire to do that? Radioshack or something, or is there something i can just use to jump it without having to make a trip out the house?

Agreed.

Just take most things you read on this site with a grain of salt and you'll be fine. For every knowing, willing, and able person....there are about 5 flamers that probably know less than you do.

Search around, and spend some time reading the stickied threads @ the top of each forum, and you'll gain ALOT of knowledge. Enjoy your stay here!

haha, probably mostly because hes only a noob to the site. not a noob to hondas. hes swapping an engine and planning a turbo build...so he knows his stuff. he also knows how to search:<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JoshuaVA &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I was looking on the write-up about switching it from auto to manual, and it said for the usdm to unbridge the rp17 and rp18 resistors, and to bridge one jumper across the rp18 so it has no resistance.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Welcome, looks like you've got a nice agenda for the car. Hopefully we can see it in action after you are done. Good to see another new member with a good head on his shoulders.

welcome to Hater-Tech.
The grain of salt thing is a good idea. Check out the sohc boosted thread in the FI section; lots of good info. Also, turbod16.com has some good info. on it. A boosted cx hatch; sounds like fun to me.
Good luck meng
