Default 10.5:1+12-13psi = ok on e85?

Iam building up my d16z6 and would like make as much power as possible w/o going over 12-13psi. I was thinking of the crower turbo cam+ported head+ srp 10.5:1 pistons. Will I be safe to run that if I were running e85?

from what i read, i could see this maiking good safe power at this CR.

Its not here in CT, so i really donnt know from any first hand use.

no you could blow your motor with a gt42r at 12-13psi...

give us more detail on your turbo instead of just a psi

Why do you want to limit yourself to how much power you can make at 12/13 psi? Horsepower/Torque tell you how much stress is being placed on internal components, not boost pressure......

I thought boost pressure (psi) did effect the effective compression ratio and after a point even with a smaller turbo making little power you will still have detonation problems due to this.

btw, my turbo is a t3/t4 50trim .63hot

Power and torque output is the most significant... A high PSI indicates unncecessary heat build-up or excessive exhaust back pressure, but you won't get to that point unless you run a GT15 or something tiny.

Please use a better piston than the SRP... I've seen a few cars melt those pistons in the 400 whp range. IF you're going to do it, it's worth doing right the first time. Pick up some CP's or Wiseco's...

High boost levels can cause excessive heat and detonation, but if you want to make more power on pump gas go run some lower compression pistons and you would be fine. Even with 10.5:1 I bet you would be fine running 20-22 psi on E85, it's around 105 octane.

could you 11-12psi w/ 10.5:1 on 93octane?

With a fairly small turbo and very good, very conservative tuning.

You could run 12-13 psi on your 10.5 CR pistons, but it would come down to the size of the turbo and how good the tuner was. and well a conservative tune. If i was you i would go wigh some different pistons than SRP. Maybe CP or Wiseco or JE.

I can't remember his name on here, but I know he was running 10:1 SRP's in his SOHC and 13 or 14 pounds of boost on 91/92 octane from a T3/TO4E 57-trim.

If you're still thinking about E85, go look at this post about a guy running 27 psi into his 8.8:1 LS motor with E85.
