good low boost blow off valve
what the topic says! i was thinking of getting a new bov just for kicks, one that sounds nice... but for a low boost app, most of the bov i see says it handles 10-25 psi but the max i will be boosting will probably be like 12pounds. i was looking at the turboxs type s, but thats all i am really seeing as a possibility right now. anyone? thanks for help in advanced.
from what i've learned from this forum, boost isn't measured accurately psi. a lot depends on the actual turbo size. a smaller turbo will be able to reach higher psi's while a larger turbo will be able to reach lower psi's but actually be pushing more...
BOVs are more triggered by vaccuum, but if you're pushing a lot of boost, you need a stiff spring to keep the plunger shut. Depending on the BOV, size the spring accordingly. Tials are sized by idle vacuum, others have a low boost and high boost spring. Depends on the valve. Damn near anything holds low boost.
