my heat shield under my car is rattly really bad now and what would be the best way to make it stop? taking off the heat shield is not one of my first options but i will if there are no other options. anyone have any suggestions on how to stop it from rattling. i searched and only found cat heat shield not actually under car heat shield...

I had the same problem once upon a time. I went to the local shop to have it fixed...cost like 50 bucks just to turn on the torches. Mechanic just recommended to rip it off. I've had it off for about 5 years now. No difference.

 

Tin snips are your friend.

Dealers do it all the time. Won't hurt anything.

 

Mine did the same, just rip it off. yes with tin snips and elbo grease.

 

Big hose clamps.. wrap around and tighten. $4 fix.

 

where can i get big hose clamps at?

if i take off the whole entire heat shield...will anything get affected?

 

Just rip it off you will be fine
