Short Shifter and best CAI location.
Ok guys, its been about a month since I've had the h22a dropped in my 4thgen. I have a couple question. I've heard that short shifters kind'a help. I can shift fast enough to not really need one but I've kind'a wanted to have one anywaysout of curiousity of the feel. What are some good adapters that I can get a hold of. Secondly, what's the best loacation on a 4th gen to put the CAI filter? Thirdly ( i know this want's on the topic) what is a Low Slip Differencial and what does that do?
I've heard that the short shift kits on the market aren't exactly a direct fit. They need a little modification of the center console and they don't really feel that solid. I may have heard wrong though, so take other opinions.
so the filter needs to go in between the bumper panel on bottom and the smal hole right below the resonator? do I just use flexible tubing to get in through that hole?
I've heard that I need to shave hole that the boot fits into near the 5th gear b/c the adapter takes up more room. does anyone else have any opinions about short shifter adapter and how they feel. If it makes my shifting feel less solid, I don't think I want it. Especially if I'm going to blow nearly $100 for a small piece of metal.

From what I've seen the OBX, DC Sports, and Neuspeed look to be of similar construction, but if the specs are a bit different they would change the throw length different amounts and might require center console modification.

I have the neuspeed short shifter adapter, you can install it in like 15 mins no mods needed, but I dont think it's worth it. It feels fine and has a shorter throw but it's not worth the money. As for the intake I had the AEM and was happy w/ it. You need to take out your airbox and the filter fits in right in front of the passenger wheel behind the front bumper.
so the hole underneath the resonator box has nothing to do w/ CAI install? I figured getting the filter away from engine heat would be a good thing.

I have DC short shifter...no mods where need to put it in. I really don't feel that much of a difference. My friends that have driven my car are suprised there is even an adapter on there. IMO save your $40~60 and spend it on something worth while...Wax, simple green, oil, filter....what not.

Thanks, I just figured out what everyone's been saying abou the CAI
The short shifter on the other hand is still in question. I've got my shifter cover off b/c I was cleaning underneath and getting all the dust and gunk out. The lude I bought used to be a rental a while back ( which is why the h22a was purchased) so everything is reall dirty
