Default Alarm system going crazy...

Today my car alarm decided to go crazy. It has trouble locking and unlocking with the key remote (battery is new). The main problem is now the darn thing will sit there and lock and unlock while i am driving. I will make a 5 minute trip and it will lock and unlock the doors probably 20 times during that 5 minutes. I don't know what to do. I can't unlock or lock the doors with a key b/c that makes the alarm go off. If there isn't a simple fix or trick for this problem, I think i am gonna rip the whole thing out of my car. Thanks and sorry for the frustration. BTW it is a viper alarm (not sure the exact model).

I had a similar problem and it was the brain box going out.

K, I know where the brain is. It is pretty hard to get too (underneath the stearing column) i had to turn down the sensitivity on it a while ago. I guess I will just unplug it and hope no one steals it. I am not sure the year or model of the alarm.

I had a similar problem with my passat after i decided to jump into a pool after homecoming with my keys in my pocket...That night my girlfriend and i were in the back and the damn doors kept locking and unlocking so i threw the remote out the window and never had the problem again lol. However i didn't have an alarm i was just keyless entry.
