Alright guys my bro. just got a 2000 Civic Si (stock) and he wanted to race it. He just order a Greddy cat-back sys.,AEM Cold air intake, and some DC headers. What else will you guys recommend??? By the way which ones are better the 4-1 headers or the other ones and what is the difference?

 

I would imagine a 100 shot of Naws would do the trick. Just make sure you get two bottles, and make sure that they are the BIG ONES. The little ones will not do. Cancel all that other **** you ordered, you don't need it. Just the NOS.

If you're going all motor, then get some ITR cams, gears, pistons, and ecu. You'll be flying after that. If you're going to boost, then forget about the pistons because the compression will be too high. You will need to get some low compression pistons to go with a turbo.

 

Eerrr, ITR pistons will lower his compression mang.

 

If he JUST got the car...how far is he willing to go to mod the car? I know alot of people that tend not to do major engine mods.. just bolt ons with a new car. I would suggest you ask him how much is he willing to spend first. Thats the most iportant part of any engine build up.. A BUDGET!!!
And tell him to cancel the header and intake for now. The exhaust he can keep. Those two pieces will be a waste of money if chooses to go FI.

exactly. a lot of work has to be done if you're going to have "the fastest si in town."

 

I agree with him. go CRVTEC, and that page say you can get about 225 at the wheels with a 9500 rpm limit. DAMN

 

get a type-r intake manifold and some type-r cams and so some minor adjustments if you want to head in the all motor direction but if you want cheap power go with nos,

 

type R intake manifold
cams and cam gears tuned.

 

ITR B18 engines have higher compression than Civic B16. Bojang's compression ratio calculator is down. So, you are implying that the rod and/or stroke length on the ITR piston/rod is shorter than the civic? Implying then therefore that the stroke on the ITR crank is MUCH bigger than the B16 crank?

Header.

 

all motor is going to be expensive. The 4-1 header usually gives you more power up top. The 4-2-1 header usually gives you more low and midrange power.

If you want the fastest I would go with some boost. A drag 3 turbo should get you going.
