Top out speed??
I was wondering what these cars top out at.. I get mine doing about 125 in 6th gear and it just doesnt seem like it wants to push any farther... I get stuck at like 5,500rpm in 6th.... Is this a problem with all the Si's and what can I do to have the whole RPM's in 6th gear?

Most speed limits are between 60-70 MPH on the highway in Dallas. Alot narrow lanes too. However, there are surrounding areas less travelled and very open.

Yeah but come on, going 125 mph is bad enough, I'd say anywhere from 110 and up you're asking for trouble. Best to stay away from it. I don't want to read on the news that some guy rolled his Si 20 times because he was doing 150.

calm down guys...I think he just wanted to know how fast it would go...instead of going into 6th stay in 5th for a little longer...it should get you up to at least 130...after that 6th gear is for **** to move any faster...Oh and the redline test that someone did went up to 157 mph...they took the front wheels off and put it on some machine to redline the 6th gear out.

Been awhile since I saw it so I wasn't sure.

The redline speed in 6th gear is a theoretical speed--it will reach 157 on the dyno because there is zero wind resistance. Considering the power and aerodynamics of the Si--if there was no speed limiter I am guessing between 135-140 mph at the top.
It takes exponentially more power the faster you go. It might take 200 hp to get to 140 but you might need 275 to get to 150. And it goes up from there.

Just kidding. Haven't seen anyone do a test on a regular civic. Probably around 110-115 with the limiter.

I know that the DX FA will do 105 stock (I did it when I first got mine to see if the speedo would hit tripple digits) then later I realized I could have just put it into KPH mode and found out lol
