The parts seem too cheap to be reliable, so what's the catch.

I was looking at this turbo kit and 1500 is cheap for a brand new greddy turbo kit - the intercooler.

So what's the deal?

 

I dont wanna bash them but I wasnt very pleased with the customer service...

 

there customer service sucks, and they suck as mechanics too. Those bastards screw me at the shop overcharged me and couldnt help me fix my cel, Screw pro street

its cheap because its non intercooled....thats how much they are.

 

I bought my brake pads from them, got them prety quick, but I guess it isn't hard to mess that up.

 

That looks like normal pricing on the D series GReddy kit. Don't forget you can usually use the HMT5 coupon code to knock off another 5% with prostreet

I've bought maybe $3000 of stuff from them over the past 2-3 years, and it's always arrived on time and in good order. I've never been left hanging on an order.

HOWEVER: They don't seem to update their website as much as they used to (pricing wise) and I've sent them a few emails in the past 3-4 months asking about product availability and they never returned them. Email is a pretty bogus forum of communication anymore, so I chaulked it up to it getting pegged as SPAM.

They did immediatly respond to my IM's here on Honda-Tech after those eMail attempts. That's why I concluded the emails got tagged as spam somewhere along the line.

All that being said, ProStreet is usually one of the online shops I attempt to purchase from regularly.

I realize that, but the same from greddy's site is 2000 bucks, but greddy doesn't tell you what it includes :-\

75% is a lot to knock off. Unless the original one from greddy came with an intercooler, they removed that from the package, and only sell that...then I could see the price diff, still, 500 for an IC is more than I'd pay.

So all this crap about buying all the parts used and everything so I might come out payin 1000 dollars on a budget turbo-D build is dick whipped by everything brand new from Greddy for 1500 bucks?

So what would I need from there?

Appears to have the downpipe and intake, turbo, manifold, piping, oil equip..not entirely sure what the expletive those 2 big silver things in the middle are...

So I'd probably be able to use some of the piping (such as the charge pipe), other than that, I'd need to purchase new piping for the IC, right? Or do they have a crossover pipe there if you don't have an IC? That, injectors, and a management unit, and I'd be ready to roll?

So could anybody tell me what the greddy kits include? Since there's no picture, and no description? Seems to have everything but an IC judging by the other pics.

Which way would you guys recommend going for a budget build? Picking everything up used?

And say I decide not to go with an IC, how badly will my HP gains suffer?

 

its 2000 on greddy's site because they list it at MSRP!!

they also list the profec B Spec II for 499($432, but is used to be 499)

but any joe schmo can get it for 320$. thats how much nopi sells it for, walk in price.

 

Basically the turbo kit comes with everything needed to turbocharge the car WITHOUT an intercooler and WITHOUT a bov (due to 50 state emissions reasons).

I reccomend upgrading the oil drain, the one they give you is kinda sucky like a DRAG setup.

I would also sell the bluebox + 310cc injectors on ebay and go an OEM ECU route of your choice (Crome, Uberdata, Neptune or Hondata etc) and a set of injectors that will last you a lil bit longer than 310's (performance wise).

IF you decide to not buy their intercooler kit (which does include the pipes needed) you will obviously have to fab your own charge piping.. which isn't a big deal. If I was buying a Greddy kit I would probobly fab my own, I think most people want 400+ for the IC kit? Been awhile since I've checked pricing on that. You can do a lot better on your own there.

Good idea to add a BOV of some sort too.

That is a close up of the Integra/B series base kit courtesy of the team-integra article. It's essentially the same basic layout of the included components.

 

Alright, so what would you guys do?

Given a stock internals D-series budget build.

Needing all the components, running chipped P28 (ignoring tune for now), needing IC.

 

i ordered my BOV from them, didnt have any problems

ordered a clutch from them a while back they messed up on the pricing and took a while to get a refund on the difference
