Default Changing Fuel Injectors

For those of us who have never done this.. (changing the fuel injectors).. any tips from you guru's out there? i searched but didnt find any threads about 'how to' stuff.

i have a 96ex 5spd, i got a brand new fuel filter, plug wires, ..i had the dealer adjust the valves for me. and its Still rough idle... so next step would be clogged injectors im thinken. I was lookin at the Helms..doesnt seem Too hard, but ive never done it b4, thought id ask any advice b4 i go buy new parts.

TIA

yes its pretty easy just take the fuel rail out and the just sit in there with o rings..

try just cleaning them with some throttle body cleaner..
get some injector cleaner for your fuel tank..
it come ina bottle just dump it in your fuel tank..
get at auto zone..

also clean out your IACV (idle air control) it one th back of the manifold by the fire wall..

you can clean it out with some throttle body cleaner. there is a little screen that gets cloged

while your at it clean your throttle body.. hold the flap open and get in there with a rag can clean it.. use what else but your trusty throttle body cleaner

report back with results!

don;t waste money on new injectors just yet

I was gonna take the injectors off my '95 EX to look at the number on 'em but the clips seem "stuck" and I didn't wanna break 'em. Is it just b/c they're old & stiff or is there something else keeping them in there?

Sorry, not meaning to thread jack...

yeah your going to want to pull a fuse in your fuse box so you dont get gas every where as well. other than that is pretty basic just make sure your injectors are on correctly and check the O rings, if one is cut up a bit or the o ring doesnt go around perfectly(defect in the ruber) it might leak. thats what happened to me.

I have always been told to also unscrew the gas cap to relieve some fuel pressure. Other than that its basically common sense.

Heres a how to on replacing a fuel rail, same basic idea.
