Default question abnout tires on hx wheels and lug question

search doesn'tfind the word "best" and hx is too short to search for so thats why i'm making a new thread

whats a great tire and size that would fit a daily driven hatch with hx wheels. doesn't have to be all season but has to be pretty good in the rain. car will see track days once in a while to. car is also lowered about 1 finger gap all around.

also will i be able to use rays wheel locks with these tires? if not what are the BESt locks to get that are VERY difficult to remove. thanks

The HX wheels are 14x5.5. The proper tire size for those wheels on a '92 hatchback is 185/60-14. The only really good tire available in that size is the Yokohama ES100. It's perfect for daily driving - pretty good traction and handling on dry pavement, excellent in rain, and lasts a reasonably long time (25-40K miles). Price is reasonable too. They'll be okay for an occasional track event; if you start doing a lot of track events, though, you may want to get another, bigger set of wheels for stickier tires that won't be as good for daily driving.

Wheel locks depend on the wheels, not the tires; tires have nothing to do with wheel locks.

With any OEM Honda/Acura wheels, you need to make sure to use lug nuts (including wheel locks) that have a ball-shaped seating area, the area that comes into contact with the wheel. You will have to check any set of wheel locks to make sure; if it doesn't say, it probably has a tapered seating area, not the ball shape you need.

a good lock would be from mcgaurd or gorilla or volk all make a good locking lug nut... mcgaurd makes the oe lock for honda and gorilla makes a ball seat lock for honda as well
