which would you pick 500whp 4thgen or 2006 gsxr 1000cc?
just seein what you guys would pick and why heres the deal i have a gsxr1000cc and a prelude 1992 but in order for me to go built 500 whp i have to sell my bike so heres teh choices pick 500 whp prelude means gettin rid of the bike or pick gsxr means keep the bike and just chill with a 300 whp sohc prelude turbo which i have rite now. Also i cant do both either just keep the bike and chill with 300 whp prelude thats the last choice thanks in advance
ps. i have a scion xb as a daily driver
ps. i have a scion xb as a daily driver
even as a former prelude owner and current motorcyclist i would choose the bike, hands down
i'd keep the car as a daily driver and the bike as the weekend *****

keeping the bike is smarter economically and will save you money in the end compared to spending god knows how much in making some power that isnt even useable on the street.

I agree with this man. If you're in a money crunch, you shouldn't even be involving yourself in project cars. Choose the smarter decision.

for me cars are cars. I bought bunch of car parts and right now I'm selling all because Im buying another bike. I love riding more than anything. If anybody wants to buy KYB AGX shocks and h&R spring, PM ME!! haha sorry for jackign yo thread!
i'm not much of a bike person but i would say keep the bike anyway
like b.rabbit said it's a smarter financial decision for one thing
and for another.....i have personally watched my cousin run a 9.7 in the 1/4 on his stock 2006 gsxr 1000........sorry but no prelude is anywhere near 9's

What are you going to do with either the 500whp turbo car or 170rwhp bike?
If you are just tooling around the street then spring for the car.
If you intend on doing something useful (like road racing/trackdays) then get the bike. Afterall, that's what the bike was designed for.
If you have never taken the bike to a road racing event then I strongly suggest that you do. For adrenaline it's hard to beat going 90+mph through a fast sweeper, dragging a knee with nothing holding you onto the bike but a knee into the side of the tank, a couple feeble clip-ons and some tenuous footpegs. Set your body position off to one side far enough and it is almost like flying.
Cars are fine. They are far more practical. You can get more than a sixpack from the local grocer's and you can comfortably take passengers. Stereos are nice too.
And you guys are senile if you think that we're all concerned about out financial investments. We are on a money-pit modification board, not stock, bonds, and funds investment forum.
Whatever you choose Please don't use either for drag racing. Especially the bike.

Up here you cant take the bike when it's snowing nor would a 500hp car get you anywhere so I'd keep the bike and the "low" horsepower lude.

Smoke everyone but the person who bought the GSXR1000 and every other person on a bike. There's not enough traction in the world to beat a 10 second rocket without trying to run slicks on the street.
I'd never get rid of my bikes to make a car go faster. I'd miss the bike way too much the first time I get passed by some lamer on a bike that knows how to twist the throttle.

it's like pirate says, what are you going to do w/ a 500whp 4gen? unless you're going to drag it nd such it's really pointless aside from just having such a beastly car. economically and logically you should stick with the bike. how much are you tryna sell it for anywho?
yea i love my bike very much but i have always dreamed of building a 500 whp 4thgen cuz a bike i can always get later down the road. and yea i dont drag race my gsxr 1000
i usaally just ride pretty normal as a commuter around town and cruise i do go road racing in the cayons once a week its great heres some pics of my bike

there are millions of gsxr's, how many 500whp preludes do you see? depends what you want, i personally dont think you can compare the two because they're designed for two totally different goals. besides i've seen r1's been given a good run for their money by 500whp cars before, i wouldn't say you would beat him but in a straight line atleast you cold possibly stay with him given you had enough power, best thing to do is build it and find out, then if you dont like it sell it to me.
A 500whp prelude will never compare to a bike... and I've probably done about 5 or 6 set-ups in 4/5th gen prelude's that make that much power or more. Even a 600whp civic is hard to compare to a bike in a straight line. I ride in high horsepower set-ups all the time and I also ride this around town:

Gixers are a dime a dozen round these parts, and fast ludes are as rare as exotics........no brainer for me.Plus bikes are fun for a minute..but..u ask what are u going to do with a 500whp prelude, probally the same thing u do with a bike that goes 190,as much or as little as u like.U can push the limits on both,if u have the *****,and lack of fear,so its all up to u buddy. Im dis-enchanted by street bikes,Ive had a couple and they are fun in the summer, and the gas milage is great, but besides that they grow old,and it rains a ton here in the winter,so I like vehicles that have roofs....lol
A 500whp prelude with proper suspension set-up and tuning should net you in the high 10's to low 11's. This will cost you anywhere from $14,000 to $25,000 if you want it done right and lasting.
A stock '01 RC-51 is rated to run a 10.6-11.0s on the quarter mile. I've got a few upgrades so I may be a little faster plus I have an '03... but I have yet to take my bike to a drag strip. I prefer tracks and mountain riding. You are lucky to be out in cali... everything here is so damn straight. Which is the only reason why I have a 1000cc bike.
The GSX-R 1000cc is a bit faster I believe than my bike on the straight away due to the inline 4 vs the v-twin.
Don't think I'm bashing the H builds... because that's what we specialize in doing. I love FI Preludes... but don't go into this project thinking it is going to bust every GSX-R on the road. Bikes and cars are 2 completely different monsters. If you need any help with parts for your set-up let me know
