Default 01-02 cluster in 05 civic

Ok, I have an 05 manual civic vp coupe. I have no tach and it sucks. I found this cluster on ebay from an 01-02 manual civic ex. I messaged the guy and he said that it would not fit in my car. From what I saw on some of the other forums, it is a plug and play swap. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me for certain that this swap would or would not work. And yes, I did use the search button.
Thankyou

yes you can put the cluster in your 05 but rewiring is required... 01-02 tachs are different from 04-05's

Yes, you should be able to use the EX cluster. The wiring I'm unsure of, but the fitment and mounting bolt layout are extremely similar. I agree that you need a tachometer, as well, since it is a manual car.
