Ignition timing question- 1994 Honda Accord
Hello,
Today I was trying to check my ignition timing. I followed the procedure in the Haynes manual of jumpering the connector under the glove box.
But when i jumper the wire the timing marks on the crank pulley arent within the limits of adjustment by turning the distributor!!!! I then checked timing with the connector unjumpered, and there is no change in apparent location of the markings!!!
The camshaft timing is right on (i did a sanity check by taking the upper timing cover off and checked for the alignment with the white mark on the crank pulley) and its right on. Also the car runs very well, not stumbling or anything like that when the timing isnt right.
What could cause this? Is there something wrong with my ECM?
Thanks!

I thought the same thing, so i cleaned the marks, and made my own using a grease pencil.... when i started it up again and looked for the mark it was still off.
the biggest thing is that it seems like when teh connector is jumped or not, the timing mark on the crank pulley in relation to the timing cover mark does not change.
Any other ideas?
Thanks!
