All exhausts have water running through them. That's why the mild steel ones rot from the inside (and why you see water coming out the tailpipe when you first start the car). What that tells me is that the exhaust and piping isn't stainless steel and that the exhaust needs to be replaced. You won't be able to weld on that, the whole thing has cancer and the welder will just burn through.

If it's supposed to be stainless then it's a cheap chinese copy of an Apexi N1 that probably came off Ebay.

the apexi N1's are known to rust, what i would do is buy another one, and this time sand it down REAL good, then coat it up with high heat paint, possibly rust oleum oven/grill paint. no more rust

He is in hawaii, they have some of the wierdest rust problems ever with all the salt spray coming from the ocean. I don't think paint will help it from rusting on the inside.

Buy a stainless exhaust. It'll last forever. Since they rust from the inside, it's pointless to sand and paint the exhaust.

Nice and rusty, just like we get here in PA. Deffinitely get a new one, you won't be able to do much with that at all.
