We all know that

A little sneak peak of the turbo setup, still needs to be welded and what not. Will get more pics soon.

THeir not tight with a d-series. That manifold placed the turbo too far out.

WG looks good though

Anything in this chassis I consider tight, with the cross member and the radiator/fan setup. The downpipe was more of the concern, and I will have pictures of that later, it sits about 1/4 away from the block. And the log manifold flange is as far down as it will go. The compressor housing is what sticks out the most.

Awesome. Looks really good.

I think you could have saved some space and work by rotating that WG flange so that it faces down more. it would have taken that 180 turn out of the equation.

That's a nice lookin setup man.

I noticed you always use those BMC log flanges....you ever consider doing a down piece out of round or square tube? On the last D setup I did, that's how I built the log and it tucked the turbo really tight to the block.

Well you can only cut so much out of the manifold, until you hit the gap area. If you recessed the pipe into the manifold then you could get away with it, but you would also be making the opening smaller which I don't like.

I did my dumptube really similar to that, but the bends are less dramatic. My SFP manifold places my wastegate in almost the same position, and I curved the dumptube around down on the inside of the downpipe like you did.

I had to leave room for my O2 bung and EGT probe in the downpipe though.

Looks like a nice setup!

Well, I did have an advantage on that setup I did because it was a 14b so the flanges are more square and have less area than that turbo there. This is what I was referring to though...got it down quite a bit lower.

I must say though, for a cheap setup that dudes setup will still impress your typical Honda guy out there. It's gonna look good from an upward view standing in front of it.

Take a shot from that angle.

Looks good, I will defiantly take that into consideration. And when I said tight, I mainly meant the downpipe, the ef chassis cross member is huge.

i always wondered is it possible to rotate the housings on a turbo to make them line up better with the application, for instance, if you rotate the compressor housing on this setup so that the output point downward, because i noticed as it sits its going to be pretty difficult to get chargepiping on there with out some crazy silicone elbows and creative pipe routing.

thats what i figured, because you would have to assume taht the manufacturer would center the compression assembly, but its good to have a straight forward answer THANKS

they are the sellers, they dont make turbo's , it looks like a to4e or like a t3/t4 hybrid..thats what they mostly seem to sell, i mean the original manu. all i meant was that when they designed it they must have put the compressor wheels perfectly on center to the housings to make them able to be rotated to fit different applications

Yeah I built pretty much the same manifold with a bmc race flange like that. I had the hoe clocked as far down as it could go to miss a full length rad. It JUST barely fit. Next time I use a box and finish in half the time.

Holy snake of a dumptube. Rotate the wastegate so it points down and you can get rid of half of those bends.

Bla I'm too lazy to go get my mouse and I can't remember how to copy and paste on an Apple laptop. ****** hippies. /apple rant. There are pics of the similiar setup I did floating around here or HMT somewhere.

Yeah, I would of pointed it down a tad but I did not have the wastegate he wanted to use for mock up.
