Default 98 ciic shaking steering wheel

When I hit 55 an above the steering wheel starts to shake/vibrate. It is not continuos but comes an goes, No pattern really. Do I just need an alignment? Oh when I brake eerything feels ok no shakes. Someone told me maybe my rotors are warped. But wouldnt I feel it when braking? Braking does feel good tho. What is it?

it could be ur tires...usually unbalance tires will case this...if ur cars been sittin for a long time, flatspots will cause this also..get ur tires balances and check ur brakes n rotors

balance your wheels
get an aligment
and if that fails it could be a wheel bearing

If it was your brakes you would feel the shaking when you step on the brakes.

Try this for a quick fix, rotate your tires or use different ones for testing and see what happens.

Do what he said ^

Sounds like improperly balanced wheels to me. Could also potentially be a CV joint or wheel bearing problem. Definitely not a brake or alignment problem.

When you're rotating tires to try and isolate the vibration, check all 4 of your CV boots on your axles to make sure they're not torn or leaking.

I just had the front 2 tires replaced and balanced. Ya I figured it cant be the brakes or I would feel it. I will get the back 2 balanced and an alignment done an go from there but also inspect the CVs. Thanks for your help

it was shaking before the fronts were replaced though. But the place that replaced the tires seemed shady an just trying to make money so I didnt ask them.
