Wouldn't you like to know how long it lasted, as well?

That would be cool too, even though is not important to me. I already have the greddy kit and just want to know if anyone knows the answers to my questions

I read about a guy on the forum who ran 300whp on his itR with the greddy kit. I think thats suppose to be the max whp from that kit, then you have to start upgrading most of its parts.

He also had the internal waste gate welded shut and used an external one, so I guess he must have changed the manifold too.

Yeah I think I should have put another turbo instead of the greddy turbo kit but way to late. Do you know if he rebuild the motor?

I've seen 280whp with the bolt-on GReddy kit tuned with CROME, on a stock GSR engine. Pretty good numbers.

Also, you don't have to change the manifold to go with an external wastegate. A lot of us DSM guys just buy the flange, cut out the appropriate section, and weld the flange on. Works fine. Would work fine with the GReddy manifold as well.

No, I dont think the motor was built, he was running it on a stock motor.

A stock motor can handle 300whp so your pretty much in your range.

A greddy manifold is made out of cast iron and its not the best manifold (it basically doesnt have too much room to place an external waste gate in the correct place it needs to be.) so its going to be hard welding a fange to it.

Quoted because I don't want to see you complaining when the motor POPS!

Every hear the sayings, Do it once and do it right? Or work smart not hard?
I guess those don't apply to you

I think I'm going to leave now, this place... what an amazing downfall from all the knowledge not that long ago.
But I'll be back to toss my .02 again.

Just make sure the tuner U use knows U want it tuned on the conservative side & not the ragged edge. Just to give U an idea, I ran 10PSI on my R w/ a JRSC @ 260WHP on stock internals. Personally I wouldn't push past 300WHP on the stock motor. Good luck w/ your set up.

It is not about the amount of boost, but rather the amount of power that causes the most stress to your engine. Anything over 300 whp is dangerous.

Exactly thats why I don't care how long it lasted.... because I do my stuff right. I get the best things and the best work when it comes down to it. Why do you think I haven't boost more than 7lbs? Because I know after that you can do some damage to the motor. Boosting 7lbs won't do much... Even if I mod it any more(which I don't know what I might do yet), I would throw in a GSR motor and put my motor away.... Then I wouldn't worry about anything going wrong with the ITR motor

It used to be a lot different back in the day... Everyone has a fragmented answer in this thread...
