Default Safe lowering level

SO i have a set of 215/40R17's which i have yet to get tires on, but I know i will need to lower my car. What would be a safe drop where i wont rub, or scrap. I live in an area with LOTS of BIG potholes and speed bumps. Im looking at Dezods Suspension package stage II. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

depends if you have an aftermarket exhaust too. i know for my greddy evo II that 1.5 will rub on speedbumps if i dont be careful.

pretty much any exhaust on em2's rub. It's just the bad way they made the exhaust.

1.5" is safe. 2 is pushing it. Maybe with bigger rims/tires you can do it, but then you MAY have to roll your fenders..

That's only if you go huge though.

1.5" is probably the best... 40 series tires + bad roads = bad choice

The rims are the deciding factor in this argument. You won't be able to fit the tires past 1.5" if you're running an offset higher than +47 or lower than +40.

True... i'm on a 205/17 +42 and it's pretty close to the arches even though i'm not decked. (I'm lowered about 50-55mm ish)
