A 94 accord wagon I looked at has a broken antenna. Can it be replaced with say an fixed rubber generic s2000 short antenna and still get reception? Will it get worse reception because it is partially blocked by a window?

Also the motor makes a slight ticking noise, it is an f22. What could this be?

The A/C took a while to get cold, maybe 20-30 seconds, but then it was pretty cold, why is this? Is this common?

Antenna: should work.
Ticking: do a valve lash adjustment.
A/C: no idea, haven't used mine in a long time.

 

antena: yes should get pretty go reception
Ticking: Might be a slight knock? in which case steer clear
A/C: Might need recharging you can get a kit for $30 to accomplish this

thanks, could I take it to a dealer to look at the motor to determine what it is? Would a honda dealer do this?

 

Yes, a dealer would be happy to do it for good $$$.

While you are at it, you may want to have an engine compression test done as well -- it would tell you if the engine is still in good shape or not.

My accord had a ticking sound till I had the valve clearance adjusted. If it was a knock it would be more than ticking.

 

i was just throwing that out there as a possibility
