we got a project to repair some incalloy pieces and i'm wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with it?

what are the weld characteristics? closer to stainless or inconel?

it's some pretty ******* expensive metal i'll tell you that.

 

Do you mean Inconel 718? I've welded that, but never heard of Incalloy 710...

 

its not inconel, it has inconel in it, but it also has more nickel and some other **** that i can't remember. anyways it's expensive as all hell, they make downhole tools with it for the oilfield.

 

I found some info on the internet about Incoloy 800 and 825, but not about Incalloy or the 710 alloy.

 

Couldn't find it in my Engineering/Metallurgy book.

Are you sure that is the correct name and classification?

 

incolloy 710 or incalloy 710

there were 3 different alloys and they were all welded while i was home sick anyways so i couldn't tell you for sure otherwise i'd have wrote it down.
