Default euro members who have 18° ignition timing...

did you continue to use 98 oct or is it better to use 99+ oct?

Well, I don't know where to get 99+ fuel? 98 RON should be good enough because it's within factory specs....

You can safily advance it. MY workshop manual say 16 degrees +/- 2 degrees. 98 or 99 octane should not matter. When you want to know it 100% exact, why don´t you go on a dyno do a run with 16, 14 and 18 degrees and look if something happens. It is possible that you lose power, when you advance it to 18.

I doubt you can feel it. Perhaps there are 3hp difference.

Be careful with 18º.
Even with 98 octane you might have some detonation.

If you´re running high compression pistons retard it to 14º.

I had a bad experience on that.

in the usa i put 93 for daily and when I race 100 octane
my dyno sheet was 200.8

There are some in California running 91 at more than 20degrees, you will be fine.

ive done 20 degrees on 92 octane on 11.2:1 CR. I did how ever add some touluene so maybe it was around 94 octane

94 US octane = 98 RON here in Europe!!!!
