Problem : Well let me try to explain this the best i can. When i start my car it sounds like its running on 3 cyl's then after it warms up, it runs fine. Well tonight it wont get out of that loop i guess we could say. I checked everything it seems fine, nothing is off, busted, or disconnnected.

The acceleration sucks, and it barely goes anywhere. It dont think its the headgasket cuz i have no smoke/oil burning, and doesnt smell like coolant in the exhaust. Any idea's?

Solution: Bad spark plug wire

Have you checked you sparkplugs and wires in a while??. same thing happened to me and my #1 cylinder sparkplug was really messed up.

 

Yea i checkd them, i changed them out as well tonight, same thing. Maybe its my ecu.. since when i go up to 5+k it throws a fuel system CEL code. Ill try my pm5 88 dx ecu tomorrow

 

check your codes again..check all your injector wiring are you sure its running on 3 cyls? try disconnecting the plug wire off each cyl until theres no change in the way its running...do this a few times to be sure its the same cyl that is not firing each time, check your fuel pressure and make sure your reg isnt leaking. also, when its running badly, put a screw driver up to your injectors individually, you should hear a clicking noise...if one isnt clicking it means its not firing.

ps--i wouldnt rev your motor too high when its running like this, if it is indeed only running on 3 cyls, your o2 sensor is going to put you into a very lean condition which could be bad

 

Well its a 91 STD, Dual point ftl... second. It sounds like a weak *** WRX LOL.. ill try checking the rest of it tomorrow in the light. I also notices a clicking noise from the dizzy. When it clicks for a sec the engine stumbles and then goes back to normal. might be time for a swap.. *sigh*

could be a clogged injector when cold and giving a bad spray when warm. Try doing a cylinder drop test and then isolate the cylinder and swap parts from there to find the problem.

 

well turns out my spark plug wire on #4 cyl wasnt all the way on, fixed the problem then another problem showed itself.. It loops idle now, cleand the FITV and the IAT and the AIT i think its called.. anyway still does it, not sure what to do now,

Changed my spark plugs, NGK Vpower's since its all i use.

Well i threw a cel light for the fuels system and then it cleared up! idle's smooth drives smooth.. oh well.. thx for the help guys. till next time!
