what the heck is a straight pipe?

If you are talking about a test pipe, then yes you will gain HP. It is a pretty good bang for your buck actually.

If you are going for real N/A power, I'd suggest a race header

true test pipe i bang for your buck ... but if your willing to spend the money you can get a high flow cat that will past smog n give you 1 hp short of a test pipe ... plus the high flow cat will keep you much more quiet which will keep the attention of the police away from you ... so depends on your situation ...

what kind of straight pip are you talking about? header all the way back to the axleback? if youre talking about the test pipe, then by all means get it. definitely a bang for the buck. if you can, a race header is always better. other than that. get the testy. lots of power for the money. good luck!
