accord shocks

Default accord shocks

hey guys im wondering if any one knows if you can use any brand 89 accord front shocks on a civic/crx, or do they have to be the bilstiens heavy duty? i just dont want them to blow out cause of being lowerd like i here people saying the their are cretain shocks to use with a lowerd suspension.

ive read on here that they bolt right in, but they are about 1 inch shorter, so it will lower your ride. if you have adjustable coils you can raise them 1 inch to make the difference, and you will have more strut clearence.

I have the 89 Accord KYB shocks on the fronts, it is a bit shorter than the EF ones.

Is the actual damper body shorter, or is the spring perch just positioned lower? What is the body length difference in millimeters?

to be honest, its been over 4yrs since I did this to one of my CRX projects. I dont remember exactly. From what I believe it was just a shorter body. I'm actually going to pull out this front suspension in the next month or so and use it on another CRX project so I can check then.
