Default rebuilding engine for turbo

Hey guys i have a 1996 civic dx (D16 engine). i wanted to rebuild the engine for a turbo. Is this all i need to get running?
came gear
cam shaft (for vtec head)
ARP rod bolts
Rods
Pistons
clutch
turbo kit
full exhaust
high flow fuel pump
fuel pressure regulator
dsm fuel injectors
total..4095.54; now thats the total seems a little high. hoping u guys have some sites that have cheaper parts. Also ive been told by some people if i even rebuild it for a turbo that my engine would still be weak, and i would blow it. need some input plz.

well all you need is a turbo kit to start running it just depends on what kinda power you wanna see but that sound like a good start off but i wouldn't spend 4grand on a DX

What are you talking about? You don't even know what size turbo. Tell us more details please.

you said camshaft for a vtec head, does that mean you already swapped a d16y8 into your vehichle or are you going to be swapping, or are you doing a mini-me swap? you can't just swap a vtec camshaft into a non-vtec engine, the heads for a y7 and y8 are different. more info needed for your build up.

What you need depends on your goals. Just to get it boosted you need:

[The quick list... more things seem to pop up when you are actually doing it]

Larger Injectors (looks like you already have DSM's. You'll need a resistor box (I have one for sale or 10 ohm resistors.

Upgraded fuel pump.

Turbo Manifold.

Wastegate (unless it's in the turbo)

Turbocharger

Downpipe (w/ wideband bung if you ever hope to tune it)

Filter for turbo compressor inlet

oil return line. You'll have to tap your oil pan. You should buy a new oil pan gasket for this. Remember... you'll need to get more oil now.

Oil feed line (make sure you have the proper size restrictor.

The right ECU (is your car VTEC... if not you need to convert or buy another ECU)

Charge piping

Intecooler

A GOOD TUNE. I CANNOT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS. IT CAN BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIKING YOUR CAR AND HATING IT!

Boosting is a lot of fun. More information on your current engine is certainly needed if you want us to help. Is it the D16Y8 or Y7?

Here's a helpful thread:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1643764

It's full of boosted SOHC like yourself. Just read and search...ask questions...purchase...and get a great tune. I know there's a good tuner near where you live. Look up Mase

search on-line and around here on h-t in the forums and research mini-me swaps. you should be able to find plenty of information on putting a y8 head onto a y7 block. also, just so you don't get flamed later, there is no ''h'' in vtec. and we also need your power goals in hp terms for your engine, not an estimation of how many pounds of boost you want to run, because depending on your setup, 10 pounds can equal different horsepower levels on different setups in the same engine.
