I have a 1996 Accord LX. The steering wheel is locked tight and WILL NOT move. We have tried everything. The key in the ignition will not move either. Yes I have tried moving them together with tremendous force. Nothing. What can I do besides have it towed in and looked at by a mechanic?

 

you should just have to move the steering wheel to the right or to the left just a little bit and it'll go

 

dude i would NEVER use "tremendous force" if my key and steering wheel is locked? are you notz? what will you do if your key breaks in the ignition..... this has happen to me before.... all you have to do is wwiggle the steering wheel gently and twist he key on/off simultaneously

 

if u have a 5 spd check taking it out of gear and e brake down, stick ur foot out and rock the car back and forth. sometimes it makes the wheel turn a little more.

 

there is a spring loaded force that needs to be pulled off steering lock and turn key at the same time pressure is relieved from lock.
