My buddy has a 96EK, BUTTTTTTT It has a 98 gsr head on a ls block. So my qustion is Do I check codes for an Ek If so it said Crankshaft sensor out of position........If thats right do I need a new distributor?

Or do I check codes for a 98 Gsr if so can someone find any codes?
