this is more of a overall forum suggestion,

but can we get a PM box?

Maybe its just me but im not a super huge fan of the IM system.

However i realize that would be a forum wide change, and probably will require quite a bit of work.

Just my 2 cents.

Mike- Good work so far!

Maybe a sticky for what wheel combinations work specifically on the FG/FA's.

Size, offset, drop your running and tire choice/profile.

Just incase some people dont visit "other" sites

Just a thought.

Keep up the good policing Mike

I think you do a decent job mike... considering you're an alcoholic.

As far as suggestions I'd like to see more FAQ's in the sticky to prevent all of the monotonous questions we seem to get from the newer members.

Overall I'm proud of the little forum we got goin here... some helpful and knowledgeable members and I only see it prospering from here. I'd imagine that a new mod should be in order in the future seeing as how much NEW traffic we're getting.

Props to mike for keeping this place swept clean

my vote for walnuts!
I really like this forum more than any of the other 8 gen. civic sites.
I think it has a good mix of people that kind of all equal each other out. A lot of technicial/important material plus some sarcasm and bantor. How could you go wrong.
As for the PM box i think the IM's are the only thing that get me through my day at Innetech.
I like that this is a non "rep" forum. I think Rep is pointless
I would like to see better smilies, some 8thcivic clothing and naked pictures of Bea Arthur...

All in all i think we have a pretty tight knit community here and its run by a good Mod....So all around.

I second both of these ideas. I wish there was a function to were they have to agree to the 06+ Civic forum rules prior to being able to post anything.

Maybe a new mod can help you sleep a little more.

Mike you are an amazing mod and also a great person. You have helped me a lot and I think you are an inspiration to many people on here, and on "other" forums. I hope this year is just as great as this past year.

Always a big fan of the DIY's... getting a comprehensive list of them would be pretty nice, just a central repository for how to do anything to your 06-07 civic.

Maybe another sticky with popular (leave the ricey crap out) parts and best prices / where you can find them for that price.

That's what i got for now... keep up the good work mikey! patiently waiting for NSX wheels on yer whip!

I like the IM system, the only thing that I don't like is that after 7days you lose it... and then you have to PM people again or whatever

other than that... HT 2006+ forum pwnz me!!

I'd "try out" for a moderator spot!

One thing I like about 8th is that they have sections on their forum for everything, so you can find posts on what you're looking for MUCH more quickly. That, in turn, also means there's MUCH more clicking/junk if you want to simply browse.

If we could separate into at least 2-3 sections, I think that'd be

Engine/performance mods
Appearance mods
Everything else

Those alone would make MY life easier, at least...

You can always save important conversations to your notepad but i agree that the 7day thing should be extended a bit,... only stipulation is it taking up more space on the "HT server" i suppose

Well i'm not sure if you guys browse around Honda-tech as a whole.
There are TONS of specific sections... the Appearance section for one has 1000's upon 1000's of threads on various topics.

Also some of the builders/shops here are some of the fastest in the country.. albeit they might not post YET in our 06 section... they do EXTENSIVE posting.. in the hybrid/ motor/ drag sections....

for "everything else" General discussion and debate pretty much has tons of SUB areas
AND soon on H-T will be REGIONAL forums... which will mean ALOT of you guys can "rep the new si's" at the meets considering you'll be GREATLY outnumbered by older bodystyles.

Fair enough, but let me add this: What I was talking about was model-specific. I'm only here to read about the 06+ Civic

The more segregated you get with forums... the harder they are to navigate...
for example.. you have a wheel section... and a body kit section..
what if a car has wheels AND a body kit... where does it go? are you gonna check both?
does it waste your time?

(horrible example)

but hopefully you get my drift.

definitely. but I'm here for the new Civics only, and there's really only one "big" forum here for it. Sometimes there's a lot of crap to sift through if you're looking for something in particular, or even say "browsing for engine mods for your 06+ Civic"...

P.S. What about my interview for being a MOD?

Like X said, it will be more difficult to find information in additional forums. I prefer this site over 8thcivic because it is much easier to navigate through. Also, the forums outside 2006+ are very informative whether you have that particular model or not.

Right now, we have the saved threads at the top of the forum. Works enough for me.
