Default Condensation building up on the inside of my 88 CRX DX

For a while, my stereo wouldn't work right away if it was cold/raining. It would take about 10-15 minutes after warming up to make any sounds. I assumed it was because my speakers were inproperly mounted (wrong size). I bought some new speakers and mounted them correctly, yet it has the same problem.

I've also noticed that my car builds up condensation on the inside. My steering wheel is wet, my front window has to be wiped down, and sometimes I even hear water sloshing around in my trunk space. I believe a seal is loose, but I don't know how to find it. There are no obvious leaks. I have a moon roof but it barely leaks. I'm talking maybe a drop every hour. I don't think that's enough to build up so much condensation on the inside.

I believe the two are related. I think my stereo won't start because the condensation.

You have a leak, the condensation on your windows is from the water inside your vehicle. Find the leak and kiss the condensation goodbye. Once the leak is gone, use some Fabreeze to get that horrible smell out.

that definately is an obvious leak! and it definately is enough to cause condensation inside the cabin and enough to mess with your electronics inside the car.

any bit of water inside the cabin increases the humidity and dew point within the cabin, making it harder to defrost windows and causing electrical issues.

get it taken care of, stop the leaks and dry out your car.

there are many sources of leaks in our cars. one of which is the drain tubes being clogged at the bottom. you have to take out the rear interior plastic to get a unobstructed view and get rid of the crap and buildup. ther are also front ones that go down the A pillars. i cant remember where those end up tho.

[oh wait, nevermind, you have a DX with probably an aftermarket, dealer installed moonroof. that needs to be sealed up better.]

the other source for a leak is the tailight seal. its a neoprene gasket. im not sure what a good fix is if thats gone other than replacing it with a new one. leaks is a common topic here so itll be easy to search. "leak" or "leaks" "leaking".

other common leak issue is the rear hatch itself. check around there.
