Default Acura cl 2.3l motor in a 1998 accord??

I just brought a 98 accord EX ULE, I can get a very good deal on a spare motor from a 1998 2.3l CL Vtec. Is this basically the same motor or what. I know my accord says ULE Vtec on it and the CL motor just says Vtec, are they the same or different???

They are pretty close to the same thing. If your Accord had not been the ULEV motor, than you would have the same one from the 2.3 CL.

I don't think anyone has actually confirmed it, but the ECU should be the only other thing you need. ULEV engines also have the different catalytic converter, but that shouldn't be an issue.

watch out for the heated sensor for the ULEV model, they freaking expensive and theres not aftermarket replacement

you have to check, i think the late model cl do have chipped's key and ecu

if the ecm/ecu doesnt has immobilizer, you have to program your chip/key in order to crank start
