My girl friends younger brothers LS was stolen last night. he even had the Viper alarm system with pager and when he woke up the car was gone. I HONSTELY thought those pager alarms were worth the money............. This happened near Gary Indiana. Baby Blue LS with licence plate (TegPwr1). Please keep and eye out. I still cant beleive that the 500 dollar viper alarm did nothing.

 

If a theif wants a car bad enough, no alarm will stop them. Good luck to your GF's brother.

I have that alarm to with all the goodies. It did nothing to prevent them from taking my car when they did.

i have viper 791xv's on both my cars.

a bad *** alarm is only as good as its install. i've seen some high end alarms so ghetto-ly installed its pretty pathetic.

even with a bad *** install though, if the freagn losers want the car bad enough they'll tow it away, if they cant tow it, they'll hold u at gunpoint when you leave your house.

but for all the other times when the alarms do go off, i can just go outside armed and ready. for the peace of mind when my two way pagers go off, its well worth the money to me.

 

An alarm is only as good as the install. If it was just thrown under the dash is takes all of a few seconds to cut it.It is always better to layer the security of the car with multiple kill switches. Sorry for the loss though.
