Default Turing up amprage and still have nice shiny color. Why wont mine do that?

My welds on 1.5" sch 10 304L piping looks fine at around 60-70amps but as soon I turn it up more to penetrate, my color goes away and stops getting shiny. I am using a gas lens with a big cup. Sorry if this has been talked about. It'd be wierd words to put under search

reason is because you are already at the right temperature. For better penetration bevel more same heat. and purge.

You need to adjust your chf with your amperage, you can't just keep it the same for all amperages.
