I have a Tanabe exhaust in my 97 hatch with a B18B1 .... I had to cut off about 3" and reweld the flange.

Ummm not always, my swap has a full catback for an EG and an eBay test pipe made for a 98+ GSR, both bolted up perfectly to a DC Sports header.
