On the side of the cam, opposite of where the gear bolts to, there is a ring. on the ring there will be two more rings around that. That would be a gsr. b16 cams I believe do not have these rings. Its a little tricky to explain, but if you put the two together and follow what I said, you should be able to figure it out. If you still are unsure let me know and I'll post some pics.

Damn, that site has it ALL! Definitely no questions left after you hold the cam in question in your hand and scroll through that link! Great post Be8teensee1

Both of these are GSR cams. I pulled 2 sets that looked like the second picture (with 3 rings) and found they were GSR cams.

Pretty sure the top one is from 94+ GSRs while the bottom is from 92-93 GSRs (B17 cams). Both are the same spec though.

Go here for more pics of cams

Absolutely not. I pulled one intake cam off my stock 95 GSR, and the other off a blown 99 GSR. BOTH had 3 rings and one lip at top like the second picture. But you are right in which 92-93 and 94+ GSR cams have the same profile. At least thats what I read. Whats weird is I've never seen the top pictured GSR cams. Not doubting the picture, just stating I trust the second picture over the first, from hands on experience.
